Achieving greater community wellbeing
Wherever we operate, we want to increase the wellbeing of people and the environment in our local communities.
We achieve greater community wellbeing through our community engagement programme, ‘Giving today for a better tomorrow’.
From making donations to charitable causes, to encouraging our colleagues to volunteer, we seek to be a force for good, delivering a positive impact on people and the planet.
Charitable giving
Spirax Group has colleagues, operations, business relationships, suppliers and other stakeholders in over 60 countries around the world.
We engage with our local communities to understand their needs and help meet those needs through making charitable donations to worthwhile causes.
In this way, we seek to increase the wellbeing of people in our communities, while addressing global sustainability challenges such as poverty, hunger, access to education, inequality, climate change and biodiversity loss.
Group Education Fund
In 2021, as part of our One Planet: Engineering with Purpose Sustainability Strategy, we established a £15 million Group Education Fund, with the purpose of promoting inclusive and equitable access to education in the communities in which we operate. The Fund is a central source of funding that our operating companies can apply to, to request money to meet a locally identified educational need. Applications are reviewed by the Group Education Fund’s trustees and, to be successful, must align with at least one of the Fund’s aims:
· To improve diversity in engineering
· To tackle poverty through education
· To remove barriers to education
· To improve female access to education
